The CHM82 is a simple USB-connected unit that adds high capacity protected memory to a system specified against IEEE 1482.1-1999 or IEC 62625-1. It suits retrofit and life extension programmes where the vehicle specification predates the 2013 edition and the capacity requirement is large.

Which edition does your project need?

A module certified to IEEE 1482.1-2013 also satisfies the 1999 criteria, but not the reverse. If your specification calls out the 2013 edition or FRA 49 CFR 229 Appendix D, the CHM86 or CHM26 is the correct model.

IEEE 1482.1:1999 certification

Certified to IEEE 1482.1-1999 crashworthiness, and tested to IEC 62625-1:2013 and the EN 50155 railway set. It is not certified to IEEE 1482.1-2013 or to FRA 49 CFR 229 Appendix D.

Mounting

19" rack mounting or bracket mounting, or supplied without a mounting system for installation inside an event recorder or network video recorder. Default connection is a 45 cm or 90 cm USB cable with an M8 4-pole connector; other lengths and connectors are available.
