DEUTA’s axle-mounted sensors are driven by the vehicle’s axle via a mechanical coupling. Dirt and vibration have little effect on DEUTA wheel axle sensors; they operate largely maintenance-free. Traditional AC sensors (tachogenerators) generate a voltage and frequency proportional to the rotational speed, which are transmitted via a cable to a converter or display unit without requiring any additional energy.

Pulse generators in various designs

Electronic encoders (incremental encoders) are based on various principles, such as optical technology or the Hall effect.

All shaft-mounted encoders can be configured with multiple channels. The number of pulses, phase relationships and output circuits can be customised within defined limits.

The pulses per revolution are mechanically defined and therefore provide a solid basis for reliable measurement!

Resistant to dirt and vibration, these encoders operate with virtually no maintenance and offer a range of resolutions (pulses per revolution). In all DEUTA wheel-axis encoders, the number of pulses per revolution is mechanically defined and is therefore an integral feature of the product. This ‘fixed’ pulse count provides a solid basis for reliable measurement.
